On Wednesday, the Philae reached its target on a comet 310 million miles from Earth. Philae's purpose was to send data back to help us learn about how our solar system was formed. It was launched about 10 years ago by the ESA (European Space Agency)
A few days after landing, Philae ran out of batteries. They are no longer receiving data and are unsure if they will again. ESA says its now in "idle mode'. To be honest, I find this hilarious! I mean after 10 years, something like running out of batteries is what gets in their way! Maybe they should give that bunny from the Energizer commercials a call!
