If you don't know what King Cakes are, they are like a cake filled with something like crushed pecans or fruit. Then iced in purple, green, and blue. (the colors of Mardi Gras) Traditionally, you put a little toy in them and whoever finds it is suppose to buy the next king cake or host the next party. They are very popular in New Orleans, especially during Mardi Gras.
One of our Eagle News projects is to do a video on a food from a city. Obviously I choose king cakes. =] Tomorrow I'm bringing a king cake for a prop. (It's really a angle food cake iced to look like a king cake. I mean where am I supposed to find a king cake outside of Louisiana, during December? And they take forever to make! Haha at lest I tried!) I'm really excited to finish the video and play it on the news (hopefully) !
